Curriculum is a well laid strategy where teachers interact with students to help them attain their educational goals. From the video, different types of curriculum are used where some are helpful to the student and some are not. For example, the students are involved in discussions where the teacher gives them some work to discuss. This is helpful to both the students and the teacher since the students gain confidence as they present their answers. As for the teachers, they are able to learn and keep track of their students and understand where they go wrong. Also, they identify their weaknesses and their strengths.
Students learn through mistakes, the teacher gives them the assignments then they answer after they have performed the task. Those who don’t get the correct answer are guided on how to reach the answer and once they learn through their mistakes, it’s hard to repeat the same mistake. This gives them a wider range of understanding.
There is the presentation in class where the teacher gets the students to look for different ways of figuring out questions. For example, in the video they present different ways of figuring dilation. This helps them present their ideas, and prepare them for college and job market. Although it’s helpful to the students to some it’s not since they will feel like losers and they will be at the risk of losing their confidence and self esteem in case they don’t understand faster. These will be endangering their future since in the world confidence of oneself is very crucial. In this case, the students should be divided according to their ability and capabilities. The students who are fast learners should be grouped together and the same case for the slow learners. This enables teachers to treat their students the same way according to their standards. Also the teachers will have more time with the students helping them and guiding them in attaining their goals.
