Dear Sir or Madame,

I am writing this letter to inform you about my great disappointment after receiving rejection to my transferring in the coming fall. I highly value your decision, but I want to give specific details which may change this decision. This is why I want you to reconsider your decision since I have many constructive reasons for my request, and I want them to be taken into consideration.

According to Admission Office, I was rejected because of a low grade I had in my Sociology Class. Another reason for rejection was that I did not have enough. Nevertheless, I would like to argue with that because I have taken the required amount of units; and I have completed all of the pre-requirements. In order to prove that I am attaching my transcripts; this way it will be possible to reevaluate my request which I would greatly appreciate.

As I have mentioned before, I have valuable reasons for requesting a transfer. At the moment, I am going through a divorce which is very difficult for me to deal. Unfortunately, I have to face many difficulties since the marriage I engaged in was abusive. This is why I cannot remain in San Jose where I am studying at the moment since it may be dangerous and threatening for me because of the family reasons stated above. This is why I cannot be in this city anymore because I need to leave it in order to remain safe and to finish difficult divorce process. This is also one of the reasons I want to transfer to University of Santa Cruz.

I truly respect and value the decision given by Admission Office. I understand that there were many valuable reasons for my rejection; otherwise I would not receive it. Nevertheless, I kindly ask Admission Office and respective authorities to reevaluate this decision taking into consideration my difficult situation. I know that transferring may be difficult, but in the situation I am facing now I see it as the best option which would both allow me to remain safe and deal with the personal issues of my life, and also would let me dedicate more time to academic education so I would be able to devote more time and energy to studying. I assure that I would highly appreciate reconsideration, and I would be very grateful if I were allowed to transfer. I can assure university officials that I will continue studying hard because education in University of Santa Cruz is still my top priority. This is the place I want to study, and I do not want some issues to change this situation.

Again, I fully understand and respect your decision of rejection. Nevertheless, I still hope that my letter would allow looking at my situation differently, thus leading to changing the decision.

Sincerely,
